Product Description

Movement 3 from Edward Elgars Sea Pictures, Op. 37.
Arranged for voice and string quartet.
Duration: 6 minutes. 2016.

This string quartet version strives to bring out the full color and texture of the original full-orchestra version. Each instrument part includes a small clued staff above showing the vocal line and lyrics. This makes rehearsal and performances much easier to coordinate without a conductor. Where there is an instrument name noted, this refers to the original instrumental line the player is playing. The term "loco" means that the player returns to playing a string part. For advanced players as the work makes full use of each instrument, uses double stops and extended ranges, etc. For advanced players as the work makes full use of each instrument, double stops, and extended ranges. I hope this smaller ensemble will allow singers to perform the work more often and bring this beautiful work to a larger audience. More on Elgars work at www.KimDiehnelt.com
