An original hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann Snowball below:
So early on that Sabbath morn, Before the dawn arose,
Two women took their oil lamps To where the tomb was
closed.
They carried spices to anoint Because their Lord had
died.
Just days before, in agony, He had been crucified.
When they arrived, the stones were gone; The sepulchre
was bare.
An angel said, "Why weepest thou?" To Mary standing
there.
"He is not here" were dreaded words. "But Jesus lives
again!"
"He lives! He lives!" would soon be heard by all of
mortal men.
And then the resurrected Lord Did ask Himself this
time:
"Why weepest thou?" Then Mary turned; His face was so
sublime!
Rabonni" was her cry
aloud; She saw her risen Lord!
She was the first to witness Him; Her love would now
record.
"All hail, all hail" soon shouted peace Across the
holy land,
For God would wipe all tears away To bring the joy He
planned.
Christs resurrection offers life Because our Savior
died.
We glory in his precious gift; In Him we will abide.
