Product Description
Here is an arrangement for standard jazz ensemble of a bop line through rhythm changes, with a Satin Doll bridge, called Breakfast Club. All our old college pals get together periodically for an early morning social catch-up, and this tune is dedicated to them.
The GateWay Jazz Ensemble Series has several notable features. All the instrumental ranges are conservative, without being "boring". The page layouts are designed for convenient reading and performance. There are NO "wild rides" from the last measure, on the last page, back to the top, etc. ALL charts are straight-through, with no D.S's at the critical endings.Internal repeats only. Also, there are SampleSolos for most of the solo sections of ALL charts in the series. If you have an improvising band, there is a copy of the same part without the written-out solo, just the changes. All parts and SampleSolos are marked, and they are all playing on the MIDI file audio clip.
The bass, guitar and even piano parts can all be played from the Rhythm Section Uni-Part (Reg.) which has a bassline, and changes. Even the drums could follow the chart and play time with this easy-to-see, all-purpose format. This chart has piano, tenor sax, trombone and trumpet solos, and a shout chorus for tutti ensemble. It also features a string bass/ 4th or bass trombone/ bari sax soli, featuring the low end of the band, giving the ensemble a bit of a break, before they launch into their shout chorus. Running time is 5:45, with fractional solos, longer with full choruses. Recommended tempo is conservative. If you have a cookin' band, rev it up a bit! MBB
