Widely regarded as a quintessential country song, "Jolene" was ranked No. 217 on *Rolling Stone* magazine's 2004 list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time," and climbed to No. 63 in the updated 2021 version. The song earned Parton Grammy nominations for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in both 1975 and 1976 for its live rendition.
"Jolene" has been covered by numerous artists in both English and Spanish, including Olivia Newton-John, The White Stripes, Miley Cyrus, and Måneskin.
