Product Description
This contemporary SATB divisi with piano arrangement provides much of the sound of today's professional a cappella renditions, but in a more approachable format for moderately advanced to advanced high school, church and community choirs.
Written 250 years ago, the poetry and music of Amazing Grace make it one of the most recognizable and beloved hymns of all time. In 2006, Chris Tomlin was asked to provide the title composition for the movie, Amazing Grace, a docudrama about William Wilberforce's efforts in Parliament to end the British transatlantic slave trade. Inspired by the movie's subject, Tomlin added a powerful refrain, My Chains Are Gone, and a transcendent new verse.
Refrain: My chains are gone, I've been set free, My God, my Savior has ransomed me. And like a flood, His mercy reigns. Unending love, Amazing Grace.
Verse: The Earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine, But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
