Create your own Storm!
All Kinds of Whether is a suite of eight movements and fifty-six transitions. Each movement represents a Weather Pattern, and is an ingredient in your storm toolbox.
Storms need not incorporate all eight weather patterns (though such a storm would indeed be epic). In fact, some storms may consist of just one movement, or two, or three, or four, or more. Storms may begin with any weather pattern and end with any weather pattern. Weather patterns can be combined in any order by taking the appropriate transition from one to another. No two storms are alike. With eight movements and fifty-six transitions, there are 109,600 possible storms to unleash on your listeners. And even more if you consider recurring weather patterns.
Whether you create one storm, or another, is entirely up to you. Intermediate to advanced level. Commissioned by the Yale University Guild of Carillonneurs for the 50th anniversary of the Yale Memorial Carillon. Originally published by Yale University in 2016.
