The song was written for the musical Very Warm for May (1939) and was introduced by Hiram Sherman, Frances Mercer, Hollace Shaw, and Ralph Stuart. It also appeared in the film Broadway Rhythm (1944).
The Song is an established all time jazz classic and has been covered by literally hundreds of the worlds finest singers over the years. This version is based on the 1939 Artie Shaw recording where the vocalist was Helen Forrest.
