Product Description

The Nocturnes, Op. 9 are a set of three nocturnes written by Frédéric Chopin between 1830 and 1832, published that year and dedicated to Madame Camille Pleyel. The second nocturne of the work is regarded as Chopin's most famous piece. He composed his best-known Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, No. 2 when he was around twenty years old. Chopin wrote almost exclusively for the piano. One can only speculate what he would have written for the saxophone, had he lived long enough to hear the instrument played at a higher level of performance than what he may have heard in Paris towards the end of his lifetime when the saxophone was still in its infancy. He likely would have been honoured and perhaps amused by the present arrangement for SATB saxophone quartet of his famous piece. This arrangement features the soprano saxophone, with the other three voices providing the accompaniment. Duration 3:57 contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com
