Product Description
Dedicated to a plucky, full-of-character Westie that we had the honour of looking after in February 2018, this composition hits me in the feels. I dont often compose original tunes, so Ive put an extra special emphasis on this piece.
Featuring atmospheric cornets, a declamatory fanfare, a trombone quartet and a spectacular ending, this piece written for British Brass Band delves into the grandeur of Barney the Westie, whilst dealing with his struggle with a infection that would ultimately claim his well-lived life. The extreme dissonance heard just before the climatic ending brings about a knot in your gut, then releases you into a majestic outpouring of spirit.
I hope you enjoy listening, and performing this work as much as I did composing it. This mockup was programmed using Sibelius 8.5 with NotePerformer 3 and Sibelius 7 Sounds.
