Product Description

Gilmour was a painter, dentist, Civil War veteran, Methodist choir director as well as 19th Century hymnist from Ireland (UK). Moore was an 19th Century American evangelist and hymnist. Gilmore's maritme experience gace him insight into this hymn. Sections A and C exposits the verse. Sections B and D are the chorus. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the help of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C introduces the descant by yours truly. In measure 37, a deceptive cadence occurs, followed by the resolution to the tonic chord.
